Emergency Security Update: Januscape (CVE-2026-53359)

10 juil 2026

A critical Linux kernel vulnerability, CVE-2026-53359 (publicly known as Januscape), has recently been disclosed. This vulnerability affects virtualization platforms and requires immediate action to protect both our infrastructure and customer VPS instances.

To mitigate this security risk, we are deploying the latest security patches across all DeployNode virtualization nodes. As part of the update process, each affected host node must be rebooted after the patches are installed. If your VPS is located on one of these nodes, you will experience a temporary service interruption during the maintenance window.

Maintenance is being performed in phases across all of our locations. The expected downtime for each affected node is approximately 5 to 30 minutes, although many nodes are expected to return to service much sooner.

We sincerely apologize for being unable to provide advance notice or send an email before this maintenance began. Due to the critical severity of this vulnerability and the immediate security risk it poses, we had to begin patching our infrastructure as quickly as possible rather than delay the updates.

We understand that unexpected maintenance can be disruptive, and we greatly appreciate your patience and understanding. Applying these security updates promptly is essential to maintaining the security, stability, and reliability of our platform.

Network Configuration

Customers using the default DeployNode network configuration do not need to make any changes.

Customers using custom network configurations (such as custom gateways, static routes, or other manually configured networking) may need to update their network settings after the maintenance. If your VPS experiences connectivity issues, please connect via VNC and review or update your network configuration as necessary.

If your VPS remains unavailable for an extended period after the maintenance has been completed, please open a support ticket, and our technical team will investigate the issue as quickly as possible.

We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your continued trust in DeployNode.
